As time passes, games became more advanced and they needded tough hardware to have a better experience. Many tech giants now running into a race to give there customer a a perfect gaming rig in there budget. Time gets busy and we are having a very little time to play games, so why not having a gaming rig in your pocket. Yes you are right, I am talking about gaming smartphones.

Recently Asus launched there flagship gaming phablet “Asus ROG phone 3” titled with the game changer. Asus is pretty renowned name in the gaming world and there title ROG (Republic Of Gamers) is for all the devices and peripherals related with gaming, giving there users a flagship experience in game. ROG phone 3 is mentioned as the most powerful gaming smartphone till now.

Taking out of box, the box cantains the beautiful, the handsome and the badass itself the asus Rog phone 3, a phone cooling dock which they titled as aero active cooler, a stylish back bumper case, a 30 watt usb-c output adapter, a braided usb c to c charging cable, a usb c to 3.5 mm audio jack converter, some rubber cover for the ports, a sim ejector tool and some ROG stickers. The boxing is pretty unique, stylish and loaded with quality products.

Speaking of the device, the design is very beautiful and gives a nice gaming feeling in hand.  The back black glass body is very shiny and back design reflects rainbow colour in light, protected with gorilla glass 3. Speaking of rog device and not mentioning rgb feature would be unfair. The back contains a rog logo which is full rgb lighted and compatible with asus aura sync software. It contains 3 back camera with a led flash, and a microphone.
The right side has another microphone, a stylish red accented power button, volume rockers and the upper and lower portion has air triggers a touch sensitive area which you can use as triggers in game, a very helpful feature.
The bottom has usb-c charging port and primary microphone.
The left side has sim card tray which contains dual nano sim slot, say sorry to micro sd card, and it has a port for connection all the accessories.
On the top we have just one microphone.
From the front, we have a 6.59 inches amoled display captative of 1billion colours. The resolution is 1080×2340 pixels ~390 ppi pixel density, with a ratio of 19.5:9. For the first time in smartphone here you go have a 144 hz refresh rate display. Supports hdr10+, and max brightness 650 nits as advertised. The phone has a thick bezzel on top and bottom, as a gaming phone it will help for better gripping while game, a 79.9% screen to body ratio. The front is protected by gorilla glass 6.
It has front facing stereo speaker for better audio experience. It has a 24 mega pixel front selfie camera.

The dimensions are 171×78×9.9 mm. Weight is about 240 gram. Frames are made by aluminium. Again say sorry to 3.5mm head phone jack. Having it would have been a great thing as a gaming device.

Lets dig into inside. ROG phone 3 has the latest qualcomm snapdragon 865+, a octa core 7 nm build processed chipset (1×3.1 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 585).
It has adreno 650 gpu.
The specs are the most powerful til now in smartphone industry.
For storage we have different variations.
128GB 8GB RAM, 128GB 12GB RAM, 256GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM, 512GB 16GB RAM
UFS 3.1
The phone  is compatible with 5g.

Moving on to software, the phone is runned by android 10. User interface is ROG UI. The rog phone 3 has great gaming software features.
1. Asus aura sync: for controlling all the rgb in phone as well as rog accessories.
2. Gaming engine: advanced game mode, manually control cpu and gpu usage for better gaming experience.
3. Scheduled charging: now you can scedule the charging time. And it will give you 100% charge in your schedule (N. B: YOU CAN’T HAVE FULL CHARGE BEFORE REQUIRED TIME)
4. Air triggers: you can customise the triggers active points on screen.

As it is a gaming smartphone it has to go through great hardware stress. Enabling the x mode will push the snapdragon 865+ to its boundary. Now this amount of stress produces a lot of heat. Asus worked on that pretty well. This phone has carbon vapour cooling chamber to transfar all that heat. Along with the box, the gave a cooling dock for heavy stresses. Aero active cooler is pretty stylish with all those rgb stuffs and it can be converted to a phone stand for better media experience.

The phone is powered by massive 6000 mah non removable Li-po battery. According to reviewers with 6 hours of SOT  the battery will last about 2 days. And it comes with 30 watt hyper charger.
It supports fast charge 4, And a 10 watt of reverse charging feature. Now the feature scheduled charging is very interesting. There is many scenarios where we charge our phone before sleeping at night and removes morning. That is about 6-7 hours of charging and the battery gets heated. It also reduces the life of battery. Assus came to a solution. Before charging the phone we can now schedule the time and the phone will give you exact 100% on your scheduled time. The phone will not charge during the period.

Moving on to camera, as a gaming device camera does not play any role in gaming performance, or nor peapole buy a gaming device for the camera. Moreover, rog phone 3 features tripple rear camera setups.
The main 64 mega pixel camera is f/1.8, sony IMX 686 sensor,
A 13 mega pixels ultrawide f/2.4, 125° field of view camera,
And lastly a 5 mega pixels f/2.0 macro camera.

The main camera is decent. You get decent photos in daylight. But as you get in high dynamic rang or low light the image quality drops.
The ultrawide and macro just does their jobs, not any special remarkable. Lack of details is common.
Let’s move on to video section. It is pretty amazing that you can do 8k video recording with a gaming phone. Yes you are right. Asus ROG phone 3 supports 8k video recording at 30 fps. You can also do 4k at max 120 fps, 1080p at 240 fps and lastly 720 p at 480 fps. This phone has Gyroscopic EIS(Electronic image stabilisation).
As it is mentioned earlier camera is not a fact in this device. Cause this device is mainly for gaming.

In sequrity section we have in display fingerprint scanner. It is optical scanner. The unlocking speed was pretty good. We also have facial recognition.
